The Portable Remotely Operated Drill (PROD) is the world’s most versatile seabed drilling and geotechnical testing system. PROD is the first of its kind in operation with a proven track record of successful projects worldwide—including deployments in ultra-deepwater with the most challenging seabed conditions—and industry-leading productivity.

Inherently Safer Solution
We have designed PROD to minimize HSE risk, helping us to achieve the industry’s lowest lost time injury (LTI) rates. As launch and recovery and subsea operations are all conducted remotely, Benthic’s seabed drills minimize personnel exposure to safety hazards.

Weather Operability
PROD operates on the seabed and is isolated from vessel motion via a slack umbilical. This reduces weather sensitivity and downtime, resulting in more efficient operations.

Superior Quality Data
By utilizing industry leading, proprietary drilling bits and sample recovery features, PROD recovers the highest quality samples for delivery to an onshore advanced laboratory testing facility. Superior sample quality raises engineer’s confidence to optimize foundation design resulting in significant project savings.

PROD’s ability to switch between piston sampling, rotary coring and in situ testing maximizes productivity, and provides certainty in achieving your data objectives on time and on budget. As a result, PROD has consistently proven to be the most productive seabed drill system for gathering geotechnical data.

In particular, no other system is able to offer the productivity of PROD in deepwater and challenging conditions, including extreme seabed slopes beyond 20 degrees.

Tracked Portable Remotely Operated Drill

PROD has the ability to come equipped with tracks (TracPROD), making it capable to safely reach areas in ultra-shallow water that would otherwise be inaccessible to neither offshore or onshore traditional systems. TracPROD’s ability to operate in both ultra-deep to shore line conditions allows industry giants to incorporate all stages of required site investigation into one campaign.
